Hiroshima. The Mitsujo Kofun is a keyhole-shaped burial mound located in Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, built in the late 4th century. Measuring about 92 meters in total length, it is one of the largest tumuli in western Japan and an important archaeological site indicating the presence of ancient regional powers along the Sanyō Road. Excavations have uncovered cylindrical haniwa, iron weapons, and ornaments, reflecting the advanced culture of the time. Today, the site is preserved as Mitsujo Park, famous for its cherry blossoms, where visitors can enjoy the harmony of ancient history and natural beauty.
